A golden year for LFP Landfill

Our sustainably focused landfill works have been recognised at two industry award ceremonies

After a busy and productive year, we were delighted to close out 2022 by winning Environmental Business of the Year at the Blackburn & Darwen Business Awards. We are also delighted to have been shortlisted as a finalist at the Lancashire Business View Red Rose Awards 2023.

The Hive Blackburn & Darwen Awards is designed to celebrate businesses in the borough across a range of sectors. This, the eighth year for the ceremony hosted by Hive Steering Group, helps raise the profile of local businesses that deliver outstanding performances in their fields. The awards received record-breaking levels of entries for 2022, so to be recognised for our environmentally conscious landfill works, helping restore land to its natural beauty whilst working on maintenance and upgrade projects is a major coup for LFP Landfill. This includes the successful work we did at the Whinney Hill landfill site, where we were appointed to deliver a temporary and permanent capping system amid resident complaints about odours emanating from the site.

For more information on our project at Whinney Hill, head to its case study page here.

Carrying that momentum into 2023, we have also been shortlisted as a finalist at the Lancashire Business View Red Rose Awards 2023. Hosted by a key business news outlet in the region, it is the largest event of its kind in the county, helping celebrate business successes alongside valuable inter-trading and networking opportunities. Our planet and community-first project work in the area saw us shortlisted for the Environmental, Social and Governance Award. We were shortlisted alongside The Wellbeing Farm, which we shared a nomination with at The Hive Blackburn & Darwen awards, as well as Burnley FC, for their outreach work in the local community. To be shortlisted alongside such prestigious names is a testament to the work we are undertaking. It gives us a major boost as we aim to make 2023 our most successful year to date.
